Thanks to Time Out Chicago for the shout out in... →
Upstairs Gallery has quickly become one of the most reliably interesting places to see an improv or sketch show in Chicago. A super collaborative, supportive environment that breeds experimentation. One of my favorite places to play. Nice work, dudes! upstairsgallery: Hey friends! If this is your first time on the site here’s some more info about us. We’re a small DIY improv/comedy space. All...

Sonic Drive-In Revives ‘Out of Work’ Spokesmen →
I was wondering what the story was behind this. I figured it was all Sonic-orchestrated but was waiting on the reveal. Well played, Sonic. You got yourself a NYTimes feature, some viral exposure and best of all, a great dude gets a great gig back. MAYOR!

The most interesting man of the 20th Century →
John Fairfax died last week at the age of 74. His obituary in the NYTimes is a thing of beauty: He crossed the Atlantic because it was there, and the Pacific because it was also there. He made both crossings in a rowboat because it, too, was there, and because the lure of sea, spray and sinew, and the history-making chance to traverse two oceans without steam or sail, proved irresistible. ...

KINDLE!
I just got my kindle and figured out how to use Instapaper to deliver online articles straight to my device for free. Now I have access to almost everything I want to read without being stuck in front of my computer! I’m beyond excited about this.  So. many. articles. already! Especially this one!

Santorum is still Santorum!
In light of Santorum’s recent press, I was worried that the original meaning of his name may have gotten lost in Google. But not to worry, friends! Spreadingsantorum.com is still the #1 result when googling “Santorum” and the #3 result when googling “Rick Santorum”.  Everything is as it should be. Carry on.

Cats. They’re just whatever most of the time. Except when they’re looped to some of my favorite songs of the 80’s and 90’s.  Oh boy. So. Many. Good. Ones.  via Clifford

Corporate bummer, dude.
Groupon HR just nixed the nickname I wanted to put on my 1-year anniversary tracksuit. Apparently “Luvs2fart69” violated some sort of HR policy (though I’m not sure why because farts are just butt sighs and 69 is a real number that exists…) Now I need to come up with a new name. Tough times at Groupon High.

Wonder Dog: A Golden Retriever Reaches a Raging... →
An Atlanta family struggling to cope with the emotional explosions of their adopted son (who suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome), turns to a service dog agency that specializes in providing dogs for people with emotional and behavioral disorders. The results are a testament to the transformative and healing power of dogs. It’s a little gift from the universe that we co-evolved so...

Publishers destroy Scary Stories to Tell in the... →
The publishers of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark decided to completely change the artwork in the books for the upcoming 30th anniversary. What a bunch of ASSHOLES! The pictures were the best part of those books! Ugh. I guess I’ll just have to stock up on all the originals for future generations to appreciate.  UGH! Look at how they’re ruining it:  via Tony/injuryreport
